Bumki started out as a browser bomberman online — fast PvP battles where round little heroes drop bombs and try to outplay each other on a cramped arena. But alongside the battles there is a separate, very different mode — Adventures. It is an RPG world that lives on top of the usual game: the same character, but now with a whole open world to explore.

In short: the bomberman battles stay as they were, and Adventures is an add-on for those who want not a short round, but a long journey.

An open seamless world

The main feature of the mode is a seamless open world. It is built from large biome halls, each with its own look and mood:

• Nature — meadows and forests;
• City — buildings and streets;
• Caves — underground passages;
• Swamp — boggy places;
• Winter — snowy expanses;
• Volcano — scorched lands.

The halls are linked together by portals — passages from one part of the world to another. From a peaceful forest you can reach a busy city, and from there descend into the caves.

Movement and stamina

The character moves freely through the world — tile by tile, in any direction. But movement is not free: each step spends stamina. So you cannot run forever without stopping — you have to manage your energy and rest now and then.

Zones, cities and atmosphere

The world is not uniform. It has named zones and cities — places with their own name and character. There are safe areas where you can catch your breath, and dangerous ones where it is better to be ready to meet enemies.

Atmosphere also comes from music by zone: different parts of the world play different soundtracks, and you can hear the transition between zones. Together with the look of each biome, this creates the feeling that you are truly travelling through a living world, not just switching between screens.
